Our approach
BeaconFire is built anonymous-first. We only collect the minimum data needed to operate the service. Your real identity is never shown to other users unless you explicitly choose to reveal it.
What we collect
- Email address — used only for authentication and essential account notifications. Never shown to other users.
- Anonymous username — auto-generated when you sign up. This is how other users see you.
- Messages you post — stored in the groups you participate in. Admins of a group can moderate messages.
- Display name (optional) — only shown to people you explicitly reveal your identity to.
AI moderation
Groups may opt into AI-assisted moderation. When enabled, message content in that group is sent to a third-party AI provider for classification along preset categories. No user-identifying information is sent — only message content. Flagged messages are surfaced to the group's admins.
Data we do not sell
We don't sell your data. We don't sell your email address. We don't share your messages with advertisers.
Account deletion
You can request account deletion at any time. Messages you've posted will show as coming from a deleted user but may remain visible to the group for context.
